The Court of
Bells
Golu Devta was a legendary king of the Chand dynasty who ruled the Kumaon region. Known for his impeccable sense of justice, he is said to have dedicated his life to helping the oppressed. After his passing, he was deified as the 'Nyay ka Devta.' The Chitai temple, located about 9km from Almora, is the most prominent of his shrines, built amidst dense Chir Pine forests.
"In this court, justice is not delayed. Every letter is read, and every bell is a testament to faith."
